The Media Library is an internal collection of all the files you've uploaded to the pr.co platform for use in media kits, press releases and more.

You can filter by file type or you can use the search bar to search for an image caption.

It's possible to delete files by clicking on the rubbish bin icon to the top right of each file.

πŸ’‘ If your organisation has multiple countries and/or newsrooms, each will have its own Media Library, which allows you to have files specific to that newsroom.

Uploading your assets

You can upload assets via the press release editor, to a media kit, or to the Media Library itself. Regardless of where you uploaded the file, it will always display in your Media Library, which can be accessed from a number of places in the platform.

Our Media Library officially supports lots of different file types and origins, including image files in JPEG and PNG, GIFs, videos in mp4, sound files from Soundcloud or Spotify, and PDF or word documents.

Follow the steps or video below to upload your assets:

  1. Head to the Media Library. (You can also do this from the release editor or a media kit if you already know where the file is going to be displayed).

  2. Click on +Upload files.

  3. Find the file from your computer and upload. Maximum 12 files at once.

Embedding your assets

It's also possible to embed your assets to the Media Library if you don't have the original file. Here's an example from Spotify.

  1. Go to the webpage where your embed link sits. This could be a YouTube link, Vimeo etc. Each page will be different, but look for the sharing option, and then choose the link option, not the embed option.

2. Copy the link, and go to the pr.co Media Library.

3. Select the option to + Attach embed.

4. In the pop up, add your copied link and a title for your embed.

5. You can now find your embed in the Embeds section of the Media Library.

Adding captions to your assets

Adding captions to your assets not only helps viewers understand the images and their context better, but since we also use the caption description as the ALT text (the words that will show even if your image doesn't load), it will help ramp up your SEO. ALT text essentially contributes to your newsroom backlinks, which improve your domain authority.

To add captions, simply head to your Media Library. Click on an image and change the description. Once you've updated it, the description will update anywhere you're already using that image.

Maximum capacity of the Media Library

You will be able to see the latest 1000 files in your Media Library. After 1000, as you add new files, the older ones will no longer be visible, although they are not lost! There's a limited capacity in the platform but we can recuperate any old images you need. Just get in touch with the team and we can help you retrieve those files.
