Clippings (or press coverage) are the articles, either online or in print, that have been written about your company. Adding clippings to your newsroom and campaigns can strengthen your brand's story and highlight your latest press coverage.

Pr.co allows users to collect press coverage all together in a page of the newsroom. Clippings can be linked to a specific campaign and be filtered by language. You can also tag clippings so they appear in the same page as other related releases and/or media kits.

Once your clipping is live in the newsroom, it will show up in your "In the News" section, ordered by date.

Example: Velotric

Enable/disable clippings

Clippings is an optional feature in the newsroom, and can be enabled or disabled by users directly from the dashboard.

Once you disable the feature, your clippings sections in the newsroom and the dashboard will disappear from view, and reappear when you enable it again.

Settings > General > Clippings check box

⚠️ Even if you disable clippings, any tagged clippings will still appear in the newsroom on the tagged pages. To remedy, remove the tag from each clipping.

Collecting clippings

Collecting your press coverage is a manual effort, where you'll need to find the relevant articles yourself before uploading them to the platform. To do this, simply copy the URL of the article and save it for next time you log into pr.co.

Alternatively, Chrome users can use a browser extension that we added to make things easier. By downloading the extension, you can add the Clippings Bookmarklet to your bookmark bar, and every time you see an article you want to keep, simply click on Bookmarklet.

Account settings > Clippings tool

Each time you add an article, a pop up will appear so you can add that article directly. Choose the newsroom (if you've multiple), and if you want to connect it to an existing campaign. You can also keep the clipping private if you wish.

Add a new clipping

  1. From the dashboard, click into the Clippings section.

  2. Add the URL of the article you're adding. Click Generate clipping.

  3. The system will automatically add the information it can find but you may need to add the rest.

Some fields are customizable, including the title (for instance, you might want to make it shorter) or whether you'd like to attach the clipping to a campaign so it will show up in the campaign's performance report.

πŸ’‘ Add a cover image to every clipping for maximum effect and no 'missing' images in your newsroom. We recommend downloading the first image from your clipping, but you can also use your own logo or image if preferred.

If you'd like to make any edits to your clipping or delete it, click on the βš™οΈ icon next to each title.

PDF clippings

  1. From the platform, click into the Clippings section.

  2. Click on Looking to upload a file?

  3. Click on Upload a file to choose the PDF document from your computer's library.

  4. Once the PDF is successfully uploaded, fill in the form with details on the clipping's title, publication, and date etc.

  5. Save and publish!

⚠️ Make sure to add a title to your clipping, otherwise it will not be put live.

Video clippings

You can also add videos as clippings! Just make sure your file is under 10mb for a successful upload.

  1. From the platform, click into the Clippings section.

  2. Click on Looking to upload a file?

  3. Click on Upload a file to choose the video file from your computer's library.

  4. Once the video is uploaded, fill in the form with details on the clipping's title, publication, and date etc.

  5. Add a featured image. If you don't have one, consider taking a screenshot of a moment in the video.

  6. Save and publish!

Link a clipping to a press release

If you've any clippings that are directly related to one of your own press releases, you can include the results of those clipping(s) in the campaign report by linking them together.

To include or hide clippings to your releases and reports;

  1. Click on the Clippings page from the platform.

  2. Click on the βš™οΈ icon next to the title of the clipping and choose Edit.

  3. In the Connect to a campaign section, add the relevant details.

  4. Save!

Clippings can be hidden or removed from campaigns at any point. All of these tasks can be performed in the Edit clipping section.

Tagging a clipping

In the newsroom, you have the option to tag press releases, media kits and clippings so any items in the same category will show together on a single page (as well as in their respective pages).

In order to use this function, you'll need to first have tags enabled.

Example: Fever

To tag a clipping;

  1. Go to the Clippings section of your dashboard. if you don't have the clippings feature enable, you can enable it in the Newsroom Settings > General section.

  2. Add a new clipping or edit an existing one.

  3. At the bottom of the page, select the tag(s) relevant to your clipping.

  4. Save!
