Using your business email to log in
If you're trying to sign up to pr.co and receive this message about only using a business email, here's why.
1. A matter of trust for your contacts
When you get in touch with other people for business purposes, it's natural to use your business email - Your contacts will likely trust you more when you do.
You will use your business email as a reference at the end of your news releases. You will use your business email when you send a campaign to your media contacts, to your investors and to your customers. For the same reasons, we ask that you sign in with a business account.
2. A matter of trust for email servers
You want not only people to trust you, but email servers as well. Since it's easier for spammers to use personal addresses, email servers usually apply more severe rules to them.
For instance, using a Yahoo or a Gmail address to send an email to lots of recipients already raises a red flag. This is why we ask you to use a business email to create an account on pr.co.
Choosing a strong password
Choosing a strong and unique password is the first step in making sure that your information online is safe. pr.co has a strong password policy to best protect your account. 🔒
For your password to be accepted, make sure you adhere to the following:
12 Characters, minimum: The longer the better, but 12 is our minimum.
Include a mix of numbers, symbols, capital letters, and lower-case letters: Using a mix of different characters makes passwords harder to crack.
Avoid dictionary words: The more nonsensical, the safer your password.
Avoid similar character substitutions: For example, “H0use” isn’t strong just because you’ve replaced an o with a 0.
In case you need some help coming up with a secure password and remembering it, there are lots of online tools to help you with that. A good password manager we can recommend is Dashlane, which comes in a both free and premium version.
Forgotten password
Here's how to reset your password:
Go to the Forgot your password? page.
Enter the email address you signed up with. (Hint: your work email address).
Press Reset password.
Go to your email inbox and open the password reset email. (If you don't see this email, check your spam folder.)
Follow the instructions in the email and press the Choose new password button.
In the webpage that opens in your browser, type in your new password twice and press Reset password.
Your password was changed successfully! You can now log in to pr.co.
