Clippings (or press coverage) are the articles, either online or in print, that have been written about your company. Adding clippings to your newsroom and campaigns can strengthen your brand's story and highlight your latest press coverage.
Pr.co allows users to collect press coverage all together in a page of the newsroom. Clippings can be linked to a specific campaign and be filtered by language. You can also tag clippings so they appear in the same page as other related releases and/or media kits.
Once your clipping is live in the newsroom, it will show up in your "In the News" section, ordered by date.
Example: 2BPR
Enable/disable coverage
Coverage is an optional feature in the newsroom, and can be enabled or disabled by users directly from the dashboard.
Once you disable the feature, your coverage sections in the newsroom and the dashboard will disappear from view, and reappear when you enable it again.
Settings & content > Features > Coverage check box
⚠️ Even if you disable coverage, any tagged coverage will still appear in the newsroom on the tagged pages. To remedy, remove the tag from each clipping.
Collecting coverage
Collecting your press coverage is a manual effort, where you'll need to find the relevant articles yourself before uploading them to the platform. To do this, simply copy the URL of the article and save it for next time you log into pr.co.
Alternatively, Chrome users can use a browser extension that we added to make things easier. By downloading the extension, you can add the Coverage extension to your bookmark bar, and every time you see an article you want to keep, simply click on Bookmarklet.
Organisation settings > Browser extensions > PR.co Chrome Extension
Each time you add an article, a pop up will appear so you can add that article directly. Choose the newsroom (if you've multiple), and if you want to connect it to an existing campaign. You can also keep the clipping private if you wish.
Add a new clipping
From the dashboard, click into the Coverage section.
Add the URL of the article you're adding. Click Generate clipping.
The system will automatically add the information it can find but you may need to add the rest.
Some fields are customizable, including the title (for instance, you might want to make it shorter) or whether you'd like to attach the clipping to a campaign so it will show up in the campaign's performance report.
💡 Add a cover image to every clipping for maximum effect and no 'missing' images in your newsroom. We recommend downloading the first image from your clipping, but you can also use your own logo or image if preferred.
If you'd like to make any edits to your clipping or delete it, click on the ⚙️ icon next to each title.
