If you're planning to publish news in different regions or languages, then you may ask how that would look and work in the newsroom.
Option 1: Single newsroom with multiple languages or regions
With this option, all your news will appear in one newsroom, which will have one chosen base language. If you have news in different languages, a language switcher will be created automatically in the newsroom which allows visitors to switch from one language to another. Good to know that there are one or two things that won't be translated, such as event descriptions, media kit titles and custom pages.
Example: Komoot (Take a look around to see what gets translated)
The rest of the newsroom copy (menu items, button text, any other text that comes as part of the newsroom frame) will be translated into the language of choice automatically, but only if we support that language.
If we don't support your language and you'd like us to, you can help us translate it, just get in touch.
💡 This option is great if you're on a budget or if you have multiple languages that are in the same market!
Option 2: Local newsrooms for each language or region
This second options offers a much more complete user experience, whereby each region or language has its own newsroom. Here are some of the highlights:
Separate content by market, not language
Individual newsrooms allow you to separate content per market rather than per language. You could have 5 local newsrooms: Europe, North-America, Australia, Ireland, UK, which could all be in English, but would feature locally relevant content. (Of course, within each market you can also have a language switcher as in the first option).
Delegate your campaigns to other newsrooms
Our customers can delegate news from one local newsroom to the other, including a briefing message to the relevant team member. This gives you the ability to write an article in one newsroom and send it to another for any local adjustments, saving hours of copy/pasting.
Keep control
A localized newsroom solution gives you control that location-relevant news only reaches local journalists.
Permissions and access
You can choose who has access to which newsroom, meaning that news doesn’t accidentally get shared in other markets. If you're working with local teams or agencies they only have access to the relevant content, and allows the easy use of agencies who can manage a section of the newsroom without having access to all your content and contacts.
Subscribers would receive relevant, local news
Each newsroom has its own subscriber list, so subscribers to your newsroom can choose the specific market, rather than having to filter through press releases that may not be relevant.
Themes and content
For each newsroom you have, we can help create a particular theme, tied into your overall PR strategy. Content will also be specific to that market, so items like media kits are presented in the right language, and you can provide specific descriptions and files for that designated market.
Example: Feverup
