Language settings encompass a few different tasks you can perform. Whether it be changing the language of your entire newsroom, a local market or just a release, we've got you covered.
Change the language of a release
If you are publishing in more than one language in your newsroom, whether you are using a basic or if you've got multiple country newsrooms, you must change the language settings of your release before publishing.
π‘ Ensuring your release is marked in the correct language means your release will be shown in the right language search results.
To change the language settings of your release, go to Campaigns > New campaign/edit an existing one > Settings > Language.
β οΈ Setting the language of your release does not automatically translate the content of the release or the newsroom itself. This measure only ensures that your release will be cached by search engines along with content in that language.
Change your newsroom language
You can change the language and region of your newsroom at any time. Head to:
Newsroom Settings > General > Country/Language/Timezone
Changing the country will change the name and symbol in your language dropdown in the newsroom (see image directly below).
Changing the language will mean your newsroom headers and text will change (this depends on if we fully support that language or not).
Changing the timezone means the date and time stamp on your releases will update.
Adding new languages
In any single market, you can add multiple languages for free. Head to:
Newsroom Settings > Content localization
Primary language: this will be your default language for the newsroom.
Secondary languages: by adding additional languages, a new language dropdown will appear in your newsroom (see below) and all the newsroom copy will be translated. Any press releases you write in a secondary language will appear in that language newsroom only.
π‘ If you see we don't fully support your language, we can add it! Just get in touch for more information.
Adding new countries
If your subscription supports multiple country newsrooms, you should be able to see all your active countries by clicking on the arrow next to your company name on the left corner of the platform. There you can select which newsroom you would like to access:
To add a new country:
First check your contract as new countries normally have an additional price tag.
Click the company logo in the top left of your platform page.
From the dropdown, select Add a country.
Add in the relevant details.
Once you Save changes, your new country newsroom will now display in the platform ready for use.
