We live our lives online. It’s where we order shopping, connect with others and read the latest news. But 20% of the population has disabilities that exclude them from using it. We've partnered with accessiBe to make our newsrooms fully inclusive 💙

What is an accessibility widget?

An accessibility widget is a tool that can be added to a website or application to improve its readability for users with disabilities. We believe the web should be accessible to everyone, regardless of disability or neurodivergence, so we use it ourselves on the pr.co newsroom and now we're happy to offer it to all our customers too.

What are the benefits?

One of the key benefits of our accessibility widget is that it can be easily integrated into your newsroom without the need for extensive development work. This means that any business can make their site more accessible to a wider range of users, and in just a few clicks.

Accessibility widgets can also improve the user experience for all users, not just those with disabilities. For example, a text-to-speech feature can be useful for users who prefer to listen to content rather than read it, while a high contrast mode can be helpful in low-light conditions.

Our widget is fully compliant with the following:

World Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C)

Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 (WCAG 2.1) at the AA level

ADA

AODA

EAA

What does it look like?

It shows in the newsroom as a small icon and provides a range of features and options that can help users navigate the site more easily. Here's the pr.co accessibility widget shown below.

Users can choose from a preset accessibility profile, or can adjust orientation, colour and content as desired.

Interested? This feature costs €149 per month and can be set up within a matter of hours. Let us know and we'll arrange all the details.
