There are two streaming platforms to choose from to stream your virtual event video: YouTube or Vimeo. This article helps you choose which platform works best for your event.
No technical production team? Choose YouTube.
If this is your first time streaming a live video stream or you don't have a technical production team, we advise you to use YouTube to stream your video. YouTube is free to use and doesn't require you to set up an advanced Real-Time Messaging Protocol (RTMP) to stream your video. YouTube is the easiest platform of the two, especially if you plan to stream a pre-recorded video.
Unless you wish to stream directly from your webcam and live talk to your viewers, you can choose Vimeo as well—both platforms support this.
Got an in-house production team? It depends…
If you have a technical production team that has experience with live streaming events on the internet, we advise you to discuss the options with them. They have the experience and know which platform to use best for your event.
