This article outlines the steps needed to host your PR.co newsroom through Akamai. We assume that you have access to the Akamai Control Center and have the sufficient rights to set up the following properties and settings.

Example of a subdomain: newsroom.example.com

  1. Log in to Akamai Control Center
Go to control.akamai.com and sign in.

  2. Create a New Property

    • Navigate to Property Manager.

    • Click Create Property.

    • Enter a name (e.g. newsroom-example).

    • Under Hostname(s), add:

      newsroom.example.com

  3. Set the Origin

    • In the property configuration, go to Origin Settings.

    • Set the origin hostname to:

      cname.pr.co
    • Because we're going to terminate the SSL certificate on Akamai, for the ports, please make sure to only choose port 80.

    • Save.

  4. Attach an SSL Certificate

    • Go to Certificate Provisioning System (CPS) in Akamai.

    • Request a new certificate for:

      newsroom.example.com
    • Choose Enhanced TLS (or the same option your plan supports).

    • Once issued, attach this certificate to the property.

  5. Activate the Property

    • Activate in Staging first, test it works.

    • Then activate in Production.

  6. Update DNS

    • In your DNS provider, create a CNAME record for:

      newsroom.example.com β†’ <Akamai Edge Hostname>

(The Edge Hostname is generated by Akamai when you create the property, e.g. newsroom.example.com.edgekey.net.)

  7. Test

    • After DNS propagation, open https://newsroom.example.com.

    • Confirm it loads the newsroom site from cname.pr.co.

That's all folks!
