Anchor links are a web page element that links to another location on the same page. They are typically used for long or text-heavy pages so that visitors can jump to a specific part of the page without having to scroll as much.
Adding anchor links
To add an anchor link, first write your press release as normal. Make sure that any titles you link to use a heading type (H1, H2, H3) rather than body text. Once you've finished, follow these steps:
Write the text that you want to link from. This doesn't have to be the same text as the anchor link.
Highlight the text.
From the menu that appears, select the link icon.
Use this formula to write your anchor link.
#text-that-you-want-to-link-to
Be careful not to include any capitals or punctuation. Take a look at this example:
Original text: Tech Innovators' AI Launch: Fast and Powerful!
Anchor link: #tech-innovators-ai-launch-fast-and-powerful
The finished article would look like this:
โ ๏ธ Importantly, make sure not to edit your headlines after you've added the anchor links, or it'll mean the links stop working.
